This year, Turkish content has had a prominent space in the new edition of Content Americas, with presentations, events and activities dedicated to the genre, which continues to prove its importance for the international market.
And in this context, one of the production companies and distributors that has contributed the most to the event’s agenda of activities is MISTCO, which after having participated and received a special award at the Turkish Drama Gala on Monday, was the sponsor of a special breakfast for buyers, colleagues and friends on Thursday morning.
“We had the idea of doing this breakfast to meet with clients, to spend a little more time with everyone here in Miami,” María Espino, Sales Director for Latin America and Iberia at MISTCO, told ttvnews.
“We had the opportunity to see each other at the gala, but we wanted to have a more intimate moment with everyone. We are happy with our first sponsorship,” she added.
Several Turkish companies were present at the special breakfast, including Kadraj, Kanal D, OGM Pictures and Mediahub.
The distributor presented some of the new titles it brought to the market, highlighting their two star products: “At the moment we are highlighting our title Secrets of an Angel, which talks about domestic violence. It is a title that unfortunately represents reality from many homes in LatAm and the world,” she said.
“And also Come What May, which is a romantic comedy, the most successful of the summer,” she added.
Secrets of an Angel, a Gold Film production for TRT, follows the story of a family who moves from Usak to Istanbul, but must deal with a tragedy following the paralysis and death of Cennet (Ayça Bingöl). A letter that emerges during her funeral creates a rift between her three children. The drama deals with important and current issues, such as domestic violence against women, so its powerful story is ready to cross borders.
Meanwhile, produced by NGM, Come What May follows the story of Alize, a selfish young woman who tries to prevent her father from remarrying, so her father must teach her a lesson.
“And we are going to have some premieres soon, which we hope to be able to announce shortly,” she concluded.
