The Macias Group is undergoing a consolidation process and exploring new markets, such as Asia. During LA Screenings, Mar Enriquez, executive vice president of The Macias Group, pointed out that “English dubbing for animation is what we are doing best.”

The executive shared the expansion plans, consolidation, and strategic vision of the dubbing and content localization company, which is strengthening its international presence without losing sight of its commitment to human talent and quality.

The company’s international commitment is also reflected in its approach to Asia. “This year, we will be going to Korea. Two years ago, I went to Singapore and realized the potential of that market,” Enriquez revealed.

As a result of these first incursions, an alliance with TV Tokyo arose: “We had several meetings and from there came a very good participation with TV Tokyo, with whom we have 150 episodes dubbed in English of a very important anime series, which is coming out in July. We did the dubbing and subtitling from Japanese to English”.

English animation dubbing has become one of The Macias Group’s strongest areas. “Besides TV Tokyo, we’ve done a lot of other things. We have also translated and dubbed content from Italian and Dutch into English. There are a lot of European and Asian markets, but the idea now is to go to Korea and see what we can find. There is a lot of Korean anime, Chinese anime, and so on,” he commented.

Restructuring

“We are in a year of restructuring, consolidating all our companies into The Macias Group. We still call it La Fábrica, but everything is under the same umbrella, in a single legal entity,” explained Enriquez, stressing that this integration seeks to optimize processes and strengthen the company’s global identity.

With active operations in three key languages, The Macias Group maintains its production structure in different territories. “We continue to dub into English in Miami, Spanish in Mexico, and Portuguese in Brazil,” said the executive.

In terms of talent, Miami is positioned as a growing hotbed. “The talent in Miami is growing a lot. They are applying for very good roles. When we did Detective Conan, we were asked to keep the talent from Los Angeles, but we are aiming for Miami talent to continue to grow,” Enriquez said.

Quality, without compromise, is one of the company’s priorities: “Many clients are price sensitive, but they don’t want to sacrifice quality, and that’s where we come in. We are focusing on our quality, we want to maintain the standards, and that’s why we do the blends in Mexico.”

During the LA Screenings, The Macias Group team is looking to strengthen key relationships. “We want to connect with our clients here in Los Angeles, such as Paramount, TUBI, and others,” he said.
