Turkish distributor MADD Entertainment announced its hit series Love Is in The Air was a hit in its LatAm debut.
The drama premiered on July 14 on Telemundo Puerto Rico, where it is broadcast under the title Me Robaste el Corazon. The two hour special premiere averaged an impressive 26.5% share in all households and reached 30% share with its second episode.
The series was a breakout hit last summer and swiftly grew into a global phenomenon. Its international success was driven by the unprecedented social media attention to its two lead actors, Hande Erçel and Kerem Bursin. The couple’s on-camera chemistry has captivated fans from all over the world, to the point where most of Miss Erçel’s 25 million Instagram followers hail from across Europe and Latin America.
“We knew we had something special when new episodes became worldwide Trending Topics with more than 5 million tweets from all over Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia, in 30 countries right after the Turkish broadcast,” said MADD Entertainment Managing Director Ateş İnce.
“The series is already a hit in Spain, Italy, and MENA. I’m not surprised to see it launch so strong in Latin America!”
Love Is in the Air has been placed in over 60 territories around the world, including leading broadcasters as diverse as Mediaset in Western Europe, MENA’s Shahid, the CIS and Baltic states via Fox Network Group
It is produced by MF Yapim and airs since last July in Turkey under the title Sen Çal Kapımı Wednesday on FOX.
