After a year of growth and achieving major milestones in 2024, Telemundo is looking ahead to a 2025 full of challenges, primarily focusing on gaining greater relevance through significant projects. Highlights include a new sports channel and the production of the adaptation of Velvet, the hit series from Atresmedia.
Luis Fernández, President of NBCUniversal Telemundo, shared this with ttvnews: “In 2025, we want to make Telemundo more relevant by investing in content and talent. For instance, we’re launching a daily live show and a dedicated sports channel in sports. Now, Velvet is a powerful title, and we’ll start producing it soon. It’s the perfect example of Telemundo’s commitment to 2025.”
Fernández also emphasized the numerous accomplishments within the network during 2024, significant changes. “We’ve seen great numbers in news, sports, Telemundo Studios, budgets, and ratings. We became prime-time leaders for the first time in our history. We won daytime from 1 to 5 p.m., and our 6:30 newscast was the only one to grow in 2024. Likewise, we’re satisfied and focused on 2025,” he concluded.
