The LatAm Content Market will hold its inaugural event next March in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It will bring together regional and global players in the documentary, nonfiction, and reality television industry.

Rio de Janeiro will host the first edition of the LatAm Content Market, a market dedicated to non-fiction productions, from March 10-13, 2025. Organized by Brazilian production companies Grifa and Stay and Fly Docs, the new event was announced yesterday during the Sunny Side of the Doc festival.

The LatAm Content Market will be held at the Othon Palace Hotel, across from Copacabana Beach. Organizers expect to attract 600 participants from 30 countries, including representatives of major companies from Europe, North America, and Asia, to the first edition.

Fernando Dias, CEO of LatAm Content Market and one of Grifa’s owners, told Variety that there is currently a lack of a market in Latin America dedicated entirely to non-fiction productions. “We are talking to several actors, and many are interested in flying to Rio, because they know they will do business here.”

According to the organizers, the event will feature one-on-one meetings, pitching sessions, workshops, featured speakers, seminars, and networking space.

Sunny Side of the Doc, the world’s largest documentary market, is participating in the initiative and will organize the LatAm Content Market pitching sessions, one of the event’s main features. The Brazilian delegation announced the new documentary market on Wednesday at Sunny Side, which concludes its 35th edition on Thursday in La Rochelle, France.
