The group will be launching pre-sales for Perpetual Entertainment’s How Did They Walk Away from That? and Scandalous, alongside SF Factual’s Looted.
Keshet International (KI) today announced that it will launch pre-sales for three new factual shows from Perpetual Entertainment and SF Factual at this year’s London TV Screenings, as part of its wider factual slate.
Perpetual Entertainment’s How Did They Walk Away from That? is an access-driven high-stakes survival series that rewinds the world’s most infamous disasters to reveal not how many died, but how the very few survivors lived.
Also from Perpetual Entertainment, Scandalous is a bingeable, popular factual series that dissects the world’s most infamous celebrity scandals, revealing how a single moment of crisis, media frenzy, and damage control can destroy -or redefine- fame forever.
Meanwhile, SF Factual’s Looted is a gripping investigative series in which historian Alice Roberts travels the globe to expose the true stories behind the world’s most contested cultural treasures – and asks a provocative question: who really owns history, and what happens when the past demands to be returned?
Kelly Wright, Managing Director of Distribution at Keshet International, says: “These three new series reflect the kind of bold, distinctive projects KI’s bringing to the international market via our burgeoning pre-sale slate. We’re introducing these titles to selected clients at Realscreen this week, and then officially to a wider audience at our Unscripted Showcase on Tuesday 24 February as part of the London TV Screenings.”
All three projects were pitched as part of the global content producer and distributor’s Greenlight: Factual and Formats commissioning initiative. KI will begin approaching potential pre-sale partners at Realscreen, before officially unveiling all three new projects to buyers in London at their Unscripted Showcase on Tuesday 24 February at 12.15pm.
Brendan Dahill, General Manager and EP at Perpetual Entertainment, comments: “Having already partnered with Keshet International on Hitler’s Treasure Hunters, we are delighted to be working with them again on these two exciting new projects which showcase our approach to factual storytelling – producing contributor-rich shows that resonate with global audiences.”
Amanda Groom, EP of SF Factual’s Looted, says: “In Looted, Alice Roberts takes us on a true crime adventure into the heart of the conflict about cultural artefacts being returned to those communities and nations from whom they were stolen. Looted is a global odyssey of historical intrigue and criminal investigation capturing the clamour for justice behind the stories reaching our news headlines almost daily.”
KI’s factual pre-sales slate already includes three other previously announced projects: Caledonia TV’s Hitler’s Favourite Royals, a 3×60’ docuseries timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of Edward VIII’s abdication that uncovers the British monarchy’s complex and controversial connections to Nazi Germany; Yeti TV’s Secret Royal Homes, a 3×60’ exclusive all-access tour around stately homes to be hosted by Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville; and Ritual Arts and Amazing Owl’s inspiring 3×60’ premium docuseries Earthbound, which is now narrated by EP Orlando Bloom.
Since officially launching its Greenlight: Factual & Formats commissioning initiative, KI has greenlit two straight-to-series factual orders for distribution: Perpetual Entertainment’s Hitler’s Treasure Hunters, a 6×60’ historical docuseries which has sold in more than 70 territories to date; and Woodcut Media’s Catch Me If You Can, a 10×60’ true crime docuseries that will launch on 5 in the UK this February, with other deals ongoing.
