Kanal D International announced that the hit Turkish series Ruthless City is being adapted by Portuguese broadcaster SIC, with the adaptation premiering in June.
This marks a significant milestone in the global reach of the distributor’s content, bringing the gripping narrative of Ruthless City to a new and enthusiastic audience.
Ruthless City tells the story of two families whose paths cross through a fateful deal. This collision of worlds puts both families to the test, revealing sins and secrets that neither side is fully aware of.
Format sales are also a growth area for Kanal D International, which sold the adaptation rights of Fatmagül to Spain in the past and currently has agreements in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Unlike Fatmagül, which Atresmedia adapted as a 13-episode premium series titled Alba in Spain, SIC will adapt Ruthless City as a long-running telenovela in Portuguese.
