In light of Turkish dramas’ success in Peru, the network has now been made available in HD for all Movistar subscribers in the country.
Thema America, a Canal+ company, announced that Kanal D Drama is joining Movistar HD in Peru.
As of this month, the Turkish drama network will be available in HD for all Movistar subscribers in the country.
“We are thrilled that the Peruvian audience has welcomed Kanal D Drama and its incomparable high-quality productions, with so much euphoria, positioning the channel among the top ten channels in the country in recent months. With the new HD feature, audiences will be able to enjoy the series they love so much more,” said Patrick Rivet, CEO of Thema América.
Movistar Peru added: “We are pleased to offer Kanal D Drama in high definition now. The channel has exceeded our expectations and enjoys excellent ratings and a healthy acceptance by the audience. We are sure that all our clients in Peru will very enjoy having the channel in HD.”
Kanal D Drama is widely successful in Peru, where, according to the latest Kantar Ibope report, more than 80% of the audience is in the female segment.
In June the channel experienced an increase of 22% in the prime time slot, positioning itself among the top 10 channels chosen by female viewers.
Among the series that maintain high ratings are: Asya, Amor prohibido, Más allá de las nubes and La familia.
Kanal D Drama is the product of a partnership between Thema America and Kanal D International, one of the largest producers and distributors of Turkish dramas worldwide.
The channel was launched in 2018, and is available in eight Latin American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
