ViacomCBS International Studios also announced Campanella is developing the second season of the long-awaited series Los enviados.
After signing a first-look deal in May 2019, ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) and Juan José Campanella are now expanding their alliance.
The ViacomCBS division has now announced an agreement whereby the award-winning writer and director will write, produce, direct and provide exclusive advisory services for the studio.
Under the initial first-look deal with Campanella’s production company, 100 Bares, Los Sentidos was produced, the series directed by Campanella and starring Luis Gerardo Méndez, Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Irene Arzuela, which will premiere at the end of this year in the ViacomCBS premium streaming platform, Paramount +, in Latin America.
In addition, he is currently developing the second season of Los enviados.
“We are thrilled to have such an amazing and talented writer and director as Juan José Campanella to write, produce, direct and provide consulting services for our studio under this agreement,” said JC Acosta, president of VIS and Networks Americas.

Among Campanella’s renowned films are El mismo amor, la misma lluvia; El hijo de la novia; Luna de Avellaneda; El secreto de sus ojos and the computer-animated film, Metegol.
His TV credits include the miniseries Vientos de agua, and several episodes of Law & Order: SVU and Dr. House. Campanella has received several international awards, including two Emmy and an Oscar for best film for The Secret in their Eyes.
