The executive, who held the role of EVP of International Sales of the Turkish distributor, has not yet announced his next step.
José Luis Gascue is no longer a member of the Calinos Entertainment team. The Venezuelan executive had joined the company in January 2020.
Gascue held the position of Executive Vice President of International Sales of the Turkish distributor, internationally recognized for his work with titles such as The Girl Named Feriha, Forbidden Fruit, Our Story and Woman, among others.
During his career, Gascue had held multiple positions in the industry. Prior to his time at Calinos, he served for years as VP of Sales for Latin America at 20th Century Fox.
Gascue is a Venezuelan lawyer with a Master’s Degree in Comparative Law from the University of Miami. In his 27-year career, he has worked on an important pay-TV channel, two major Hollywood studios and an independent distributor.
He began his career in 1993 at HBO Latin America, where he was Business Affairs manager. Then, in 2000 he joined NBCUniversal to become Director of Sales and Operations for Latin America. In 2006 he joined Beverly Hills Entertainment as VP of Sales. And in 2008 he led the Latin American Sales of 20th Century Fox, a position he held until September 2019, when he left the company due to the restructuring after the Disney purchase.
Gascue has not yet officially announced what his next step will be.
