The company has licensed Naked to Globoplay in Brazil and Thai broadcaster Monomax, which also acquired Interrupted and Tainted Love. The distributor is now targeting Europe and the US.
Inter Medya launched their new product line Mini-Series a couple of years ago. “Through these Mini-Series, there is a new path forging for Turkish series shifting away from the traditional to a new generation of Turkish storytelling. Streaming on local OTT platforms, these series are different from what we know as traditional Turkish Dramas. With their edgy as well as fast paced style of storytelling, these New Generation Turkish Series have already attracted the attention of VOD platforms in the global market”, the company said.
One of the very good examples of these Mini-Series, Naked, which has 2 seasons with 8 episodes each, has been licensed to Brazil’s Globoplay and became one of the most watched titles of the platform.
Inter Medya has also announced a package deal with Thailand’s Monomax and licensed a package of Mini-Series including Naked, Interrupted and Tainted Love.
Can Okan, Founder and CEO of Inter Medya, states that the company’s next target for Mini-Series is local VOD Platforms in the US and Europe and adds: “It is promising to witness the success of New Generation Turkish Series especially in the regions where we don’t usually license Turkish Dramas. We highly believe these Mini-Series will lead us to enter into new markets such as United States, Western Europe and Nordics”.
Recently, Inter Medya attended EFM in Berlin from 16th to 22nd of February with an extensive selection of Mini-Series from various genres from thrillers to romantic comedies. Inter Medya presented also a huge feature films catalogue to its business partners during EFM 2023. Especially, Inter Medya’s horror/thrillers and drama movies received a great interest from the buyers and the officials of company stated that they are already about to ink deals to license many packages of feature films.
The company will be presenting its slate at Series Mania this month, followed by MipTV in April.
