New episodes of the Globoplay Originals series will soon arrive in the international market

On October 2, at 6:30 pm, Globo will present the first episode of the second season of The Others at Iberseries, with the presence of Alex Medeiros,Head of dramaturgy & documentaries of the Globoplay Originals. Iberseries brings together leading names from the audiovisual industry, with a focus on productions in Spanish and Portuguese. In its fourth edition, the event will take place from October 1 to 4 at Matadero Madrid. The series screening is part of the ‘Capítulo Uno’ selection, featuring premieres of series from various countries, such as Uruguay and Mexico.

With a successful first season, The Others is a Globoplay Originals production created by Lucas Paraizo (Under Pressure), with artistic direction by Luisa Lima (Where My Heart Is). The essence of the polarized interactions between neighbors that defined the first season continues in the second, with a narrative that magnifies family and social relationships, featuring often absurd and unexpected developments stemming from extreme behaviors.

This time, however, the plot unfolds in an upscale housing development in the same neighborhood in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, where the story of the first season took place. The change in setting broadens the perception that we remain divided and fearful, regardless of social class, oscillating between feelings and reactions that are sometimes uncontrollable.

“The Others is plural. Intolerance affects all spaces. We wanted to expand this notion of neighbors to other layers of society, which is why we changed the housing development and renewed half of the characters. Additionally, unlike the first season, where the characters react to an initial event (the boys fight in the court), in the second season, they have traumatic pasts and ambitious desires. Their actions are more planned and less reactive”, defines creator Lucas Paraizo.

The cast includes names such as Adriana Esteves (Brazil Avenue), Letícia Colin (All The Flowers), Eduardo Sterblitch, Thomás Aquino, Sérgio Guizé (The Other Side of Paradise), among others.
