Globo represents Brazil with the films: Baby, Kasa Branca, Sisters, The Blue Trail, and Oeste Outra Vez.

The strength of Brazilian cinema gains international prominence with five films co-produced by Globo, through its brands Globo Filmes, Canal Brasil, and Telecine, among the six titles pre-selected by the Brazilian Academy of Cinema to compete for a spot in the Best International Feature Film category at the 2026 Oscars.

Globo represents Brazil with the films: Baby (Telecine and Canal Brasil), by Marcelo Caetano; Kasa Branca (Globo Filmes, Telecine, and Canal Brasil), by Luciano Vidigal; Sisters (Globo Filmes and Canal Brasil), by Marianna Brennand; The Blue Trail (Globo Filmes), by Gabriel Mascaro; and Oeste Outra Vez (Telecine and Canal Brasil), by Erico Rassi.

The selection was made from 16 eligible and submitted feature films. The film that will officially represent Brazil in the race for an Oscar nomination will be announced on September 15, when the names of the selection committee members will also be revealed.

These nominations highlight Globo’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Brazilian culture and promoting audiovisual production in all its forms through its brands: Globo Filmes, Telecine, Canal Brasil, TV Globo, and Globoplay. In 2025, Globo made history by winning Brazil’s first-ever Oscar with the Globoplay Original film “I’m Still Here” in the Best International Feature Film category.
