The organization will be present at the event with THEMA, a Canal+ company, Globo’s distribution partner in the territory.

To strengthen its presence in Asia, Globo will take its main releases, scripted and unscripted formats to the Asia TV Forum Market (ATF), one of the biggest audiovisual events of the continent. In partnership with THEMA, a Canal+ company, which has an exclusive distribution agreement with Globo for the Asian market, the company brings telenovelas and series such as Crazy About You, Justice: Misconduct and The Others.

Launched at MIP Cancun for the international market, Crazy About You is a story by João Emanuel Carneiro, author of Brazil Avenue, one of Globo’s best-selling products. With unexpected twists, transformations, and new beginnings, the telenovela starts with the friendship between two young women, Viola (Gabz from Perfect Love) and Luma (Agatha Moreira, from Hidden Truths), who seem destined to literally enter each others lives. With a journey split between complicity and rivalry that puts them in a love quartet with Mavi (Chay Suede, from A Mothers Love) and Rudá (Nicolas Prattes, from All The Flowers) and is impacted by a series of developments and surprises, like the secret surrounding a murder.

The winner of the Grand Prize at Seoul International Drama Awards, Justice: Misconduct follows four characters who end up in prison and, seven years later, leave jail and need to resume their lives in search of justice that goes beyond logic and legal trials. From Manuela Dias (A Mothers Love), with artistic direction by Gustavo Fernández (Pantanal), the production consolidates itself as an anthology series, with the same structure and format as Justice: Life is not fair, which was nominated for the International Emmy for Best Actress with Adriana Esteves and Best Drama Series, but with new characters.

The new season of The Others maintains the essence of the polarized coexistence between neighbors, which marked the first season in a narrative that puts a magnifying glass on family and social relationships, with often absurd and unexpected consequences resulting from extreme attitudes. The Globoplay Original production was created by Lucas Paraizo (Under Pressure), with artistic direction by Luisa Lima (Where My Heart Is).

By selling formats that can be adapted into local productions, Globo presents telenovelas such as The Favorite and All The Flowers, both hits by João Emanuel Carneiro. For unscripted formats, one of the highlights is What Is Your Story?, which welcomes famous and anonymous people to tell unusual and fun stories. To reinforce this business model, the company recently announced at MIPCOM the sale of The Others to Greece and German-speaking countries/regions and Justice: Life is not fair to Greece.

“We want to increasingly expand Globo’s presence on the Asian continent. We have THEMA’s expertise to distribute our series and telenovelas and we have formats in our portfolio that can be adapted into local versions, combining Globo’s DNA with local culture. Currently, for example, the Turkish channel NOW is showing the first international adaptation of Brazil Avenue, by means of an agreement with Ay Yapim. And we already have partnerships for the adaptations of The Others and Justice: Life is not fair, which reinforce how universal our stories are,” says Fábio Mauro, Content Distribution & Partnerships.
