Actress Sophie Charlotte, known for her roles in All The Flowers and Rebirth, opened the event, highlighting the company’s Brazilianness.

Looking to the future sets the tone for the celebration of Globo’s 100th anniversary, a milestone in the historical relationship Brazilians have with the thousands of stories told every day, whether in the pages of newspapers and magazines, on the radio, on TV screens, in movie theaters, on streaming, and on digital platforms.

A history that began when, on July 29th of 1925, the first edition of the newspaper O Globo arrived at newspaper stands in Rio de Janeiro, inaugurating what would become the largest media and communications group in Brazil. Founded by Irineu Marinho and led for decades by his eldest son, Roberto Marinho, the group considers the country’s cultural richness and diversity as its main source of inspiration, becoming the place where millions of Brazilians meet and recognize themselves every day.

In the international market, where it has operated since 1973, Globo’s content has already reached more than 160 territories and has been dubbed into 70 languages. Recognized for its technical quality, the company has over 90 International Emmy nominations and has won 18 times.

When it comes to Globo’s portfolio, she highlighted Crazy About You, by João Emanuel Carneiro (Brazil Avenue), which is currently being shown during prime time on TV Globo. Angela also talked about She’s the One, released for the international market during Content Americas, the series The Others, and the documentary series ‘Robinho Case’.

The executive also highlighted the company’s bet on selling formats, naming the example of Leyla, an international adaptation of Brazil Avenue, currently showing in Turkey.
