eOne became the latest distributor to announce it will not be traveling to Cannes for this year’s event.
The guest list for the 2020 edition of Mipcom continues to get shorter, as more companies confirm they won’t be attending this time.
This Wednesday, eOne confirmed to ttvnews that it will not be traveling to Cannes this year, but will participate in the event in a virtual fashion.
eOne joins other who have also opted to cancel their trips, such as BBC, ITV, A+E and Fremantle.
This week, ITV Studios announced the launch of ITV Studios Fall Festival, a virtual event organized by the company to highlight its new productions for buyers. It will last three weeks and begin on September 14.
These plans rule out its participation in Mipcom 2020 both virtually or in person.
BBC Studios, Fremantle and A+E, however, will participate remotely through Mipcom Online+.
Mipcom 2020 will take place from October 12 through the 15, with MipJunior taking place the weekend prior.
