Nicola Maccanico has been appointed to the newly created role of CEO of Fremantle Italy Group, and Bruno Fallot has been promoted to CEO France, Iberia and Israel.

Fremantle today announced it has enhanced its senior management team with the appointment of Nicola Maccanico, to the newly created role of CEO of Fremantle Italy Group, and the promotion of Bruno Fallot to CEO France, Iberia and Israel.

Both will take up the role with immediate effect reporting to Andrea Scrosati, Fremantle’s Group COO and CEO Continental Europe.

Nicola will oversee Fremantle Italy’s wide ranging Italian operations and portfolio of renowned labels Wildside, The Apartment Pictures, Lux Vide and Fremantle Italy, with their CEO’s Sonia Rovai, Annamaria Morelli, Luca Bernabei, and Marco Tombolini respectively reporting into Maccanico. Nicola will also join the Fremantle Global Leadership Team.

Nicola joins Fremantle from Cinecittà Studios, where as CEO he was instrumental in the relaunch of the iconic film studio, attracting many important international productions. During his three-year tenure, Maccanico repositioned Cinecittà as one of the leading studios in the European panorama, restoring the company’s patrimonial assets, and laying the foundations for the future increase in production capacity planned for the next few years.

Cinecittà has hosted extraordinary filmmakers such as Roland Emmerich, Joe Wright, Edward Berger, Angelina Jolie, Luca Guadagnino, and emerging talents such as Paola Cortellesi.

Previously, Nicola was EVP Programming at Sky Italia, CEO at Vision Distribution and Managing Director of Theatrical at Warner Brothers Italy.

In his newly expanded role, Bruno Fallot will oversee Fremantle’s production businesses in France, Spain, Portugal and Israel. Bruno will lead on the strategy across these territories to continue to deliver standout content across all genres. Bruno will also join the Fremantle Global Leadership Team.

Prior to his promotion to CEO France, Iberia and Israel, Bruno was CEO of Fremantle France, a role he has held since 2018. In this role Bruno has assembled a new team and continued to develop Fremantle France and reinforcing its position as a key member in the French television industry. Bruno has strengthened the historic brands with record ratings including Farmer Wants a Wife, France’s Got Talent and Going for Gold. He has also successfully launched new programmes both on linear channels and platforms including Mission Travaux, Nouvelle Maison pour Une Nouvelle Vie, Price is Right and Family Feud.
