Acun Medya will produce versions in Mexico and Romania. The innovative format brings together 13 celebrities who live together and compete in a strategic game “monitored” by an AI named Delta.

Dreamspark and Studio 89 have signed licensing deals in 18 countries worldwide for their format The Power, which will arrive in Spain, Italy, and Portugal through Fremantle. The daily format premiered on French commercial broadcaster W9 on April 1 and became the most successful launch of a new format in its time slot since 2022.

Acun Medya will produce versions for Mexico and Romania. The format rights have also been sold to Vincent TV in Belgium and the Netherlands, Fremantle in Spain, Portugal, and Italy, and Banijay Nordics in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.

Among other deals, The Power has been commissioned by ProSiebenSat.1 and Joyn in Germany, RTL Hungary, and Skai TV in Greece. Additionally, NBCUniversal has acquired the format rights for development in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

The strategy game revolves around a fundamental question: Who holds the power? The daily show features 13 celebrities living together and competing in a strategic game “monitored” by an AI named Delta. The only way for the chosen contestant to stay in the game is to identify the “player with power,” who must leave if discovered.

Moe Bennani, CEO and executive producer of Dreamspark, said: “Dreamspark has big ambitions. The Power is our company’s first launch, and the confidence in the concept is incredible: five countries are already underway; we are developing the U.S. version with NBCU, and more announcements are coming soon. Together with Studio 89 and M6 Group, we are proud that this format is set to become the next big reality TV brand on the market.”

Dimitri Gelineau, commercial director of Studio 89/M6 Formats, added: “I’m thrilled with the success of The Power. Launching an innovative and profitable format isn’t easy these days, and W9 remains a safe space for this kind of creation. Studio 89 and Dreamspark have worked hand in hand to turn a French hit into an international success.”
