Present at a new edition of Content Americas in Miami, Somos Distribution comes to the market with a varied catalog of content for the international market, ranging from Turkish dramas to short series and children’s and youth titles.
As a highlight of its offer, Francisco Villanueva, VP and COO of the distributor, highlighted the Turkish drama Bahar, made in conjunction with MISTCO.
“The truth is that Bahar is an important title, it has an interesting plot for Latin America,” the executive highlighted to ttvnews. “The villain is very villainous and we always like that for the Latin American public the novel has a great plot. It has a beautiful plot because she loses her memory, and the protagonist manages to make her fall in love before and after, showing that they really are perfect for each other “.
“MISTCO is a very interesting company that we have always done things with and we love working on this opportunity with Bahar,” he added.
In the same genre but different format, Somos Distribution is also presenting shorter Turkish series. “We have the usual dramas, but we are making a foray into short titles, series, because the platforms and channels demand them,” Villanueva explained.
And beyond Turkish drama, the distributor continues to present youth series, its genre par excellence for the international market.
“We now have a youth series on the market called Gina Yei, which was on the platform and now we are starting to work on open channels and pay TV in the region, in addition to Europe and MENA,” said the executive.
“And we are working on another production that we have already finished recording, called Lucy es el 7, which we must wait a year to work on open channels. But we have already started to present it,” he added.
“Children’s and youth series are a strength that we have as a company. Music is important, we have a team that handles music, dance, and we have that strength to develop that genre,” he concluded.
