The pan-European company will be focused on the production of non-English speaking series.
The TV industry was shocked on Thursday amid the coronavirus pandemic with the launch of Asacha Media Group, a pan-European production company that will be focused on producing non-English speaking series.
Behind it are Gaspard de Chavagnac, former CEO of the Zodiak Media Group, and Marina Williams, former COO of Endemol Shine, who launched the company with the backing of Oaktree Capital Management.
Along with the launch, they announced the acquisition of Italian producers Picomedia and Stand By Me and the French company Mintee Studios.
In addition, they highlighted their plans to make more acquisitions.
As detailed in the statement sent to announce its creation, the idea is to produce non-English-speaking fictions in continental Europe.
They do not rule out projects in other genres such as kids, factual and documentaries.
The new company will be led by Gaspard de Chavagnac and Marina Williams as co-CEOs alongside Marc-Antoine d’Halluin, also former CEO of Zodiak and current CEO of MBC Group, as vice chairman of the board of directors.
Executives from the acquired production companies will also participate on the board of directors.
