To create the Madrid studio, Flying Bark has partnered with Ramón Giráldez, an experienced studio supervisor and key figure in the Spanish animation industry.

Flying Bark Productions announced the official opening of its new animation studio in Madrid. The studio is part of the company’s international growth plans, which include offices in Los Angeles, Sydney, and now Spain.

The Australian company is recognized for producing animated series and feature films in premium CGI and traditional 2D formats, offering services to international studios and platforms such as Disney, Marvel, Netflix, and Nickelodeon.

To create the Madrid studio, Flying Bark has partnered with Ramón Giráldez, an experienced studio supervisor and key figure in the Spanish animation industry.

Barbara Stephen, CEO of Flying Bark Productions, commented that Spain was a natural next step for the company due to its world-renowned creative and technical talent. “The attractive local incentives and the allure of one of the best cities in Europe. Initially, the studio will focus on recruiting CG talent. Still, soon, we plan to expand the traditional 2D talent base and develop and produce a range of original content with international appeal,” he said.

Flying Bark has an incredible slate of productions, including the Emmy-winning Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (Disney TVA), What If…? (Marvel), Monkey Kid (LEGO), and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Nickelodeon).

It has partnered with Netflix to create the animated adaptation of the global hit series Stranger Things. In addition, the production company’s talented team is behind independent productions such as Maya the Bee Movie, FriendZspace, 100% Wolf (series and film), and most recently, the animated series based on Shaun Tan’s beautifully illustrated novel Tales from Outer Suburbia (ABC).
