Global film and television studio Fifth Season announced that it has closed a major multi-title deal with Latin American media company Directv for a series of premium scripted and unscripted content, which will air on OnDirectv and DGO in the coming days.

Notable titles in the deal include the acclaimed BBC One drama Best Interests, produced by AC Chapter One in association with Fifth Season, written by Jack Thorne. Big Beach’s Sorry for Your Loss, starring Elizabeth Olsen, and the first and second seasons of the thrilling Irish crime series Kin, produced by BRON Studios and Headline Pictures.

Fifth Season’s senior vice president of Distribution for the Americas, Travis Webb, said the deal with Directv is fantastic for deepening its roots in Latin America.

“We have access to branded content like Kin, which has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and has been a massive ratings success in its native Ireland and the UK, and we look forward to allowing Directv subscribers to experience a variety of our best global titles,” he said.

Jennifer Moscat Calderon, director of content acquisition and OnDirectv at Vrio Corp, commented that they are excited about the new partnership with Fifth Season to offer their viewers throughout Latin America the highest quality content.

“This content will enhance the diverse entertainment programming offered by OnDirectv and will be added to DGO, allowing our viewers to watch anytime, anywhere from a computer, cell phone, Smart TV or tablet,” Moscat said.

Fifth Season titles will premiere on the exclusive entertainment channel OnDirectv, which is available on 201 and 1201 HD on Directv’s programming grid.

They will also be available on DGO, the company’s live TV and streaming platform, for viewing from a computer, cell phone, Smart TV, or tablet in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Uruguay. In Mexico, it will be available through DGO.
