The platform seeks to be faithful to its motto “From the cinema to your home”, bringing some of the most anticipated releases of the year.

Almost a year after the launch of Max in the region, Warner Bros Discovery celebrates the great growth of the platform, with major releases in terms of original production that solidified it as a strong option for audiences.

“2024 was a very important year, we are very satisfied with the results,” Fernando Medin, president and general director of Warner Bros. Discovery, began in dialogue with ttvnews from Content Americas.

“We launched Max in February of last year, it seems like it was longer due to everything we experienced, but it was a year ago. 2024 was then an important year and one of changes, with streaming really growing,” he added.

“In terms of original productions, we did very well. We had big hits like Like Water for Chocolate, City of God, a lot of true crime and factual content, which did very well for us. And obviously after the writers’ strike, it was the year when heavy Hollywood content started to return to the platforms. We had a robust year of content with a very strong audience presence on the platform, and obviously growth on Max.”

“Finally, we also launched the possibility of having plans with advertising and that opened up a new area, which is very important for us. And we believe that in 2025 it will continue to penetrate well, giving us an important scale for streaming advertising,” explained the executive.

And if it’s about growth in 2025, it will come from the big premieres that the platform is preparing, being faithful to its motto “From the cinema to your home.”

“We have the largest presence of content from the majors in first window on the Max platform,” said the president. “This is a very important year for us in terms of releases, almost the ‘relaunch’ of DC Studios. Superman comes in the middle of the year and we have all the company’s shoulders aligned to push that.”

“And I can’t stop talking about Last of Us, because it has had an incredible success, a new season is coming. It’s a year of consolidating, of continuing to build on what has already grown,” he concluded.
