Federation International announced a series of new international sales for the murder mystery family drama I, Jack Wright.
Federation International, the distribution arm of Federation Studios, has signed a series of major new deals for the high-profile drama series I, Jack Wright, including a sale to Movistar Plus+ for Spanish audiences.
The series, written by Chris Lang and produced by Federation Stories and directed by Polly Williams, was recently acquired by ABC in Australia, HBO Max in France and Central and Eastern Europe, NPO in the Netherlands, Nova in Greece, Movistar in Spain, RTS in Switzerland and PCCW in Hong Kong.
These new sales add up to the long list of deals and pre-sales already concluded for the UKTV / BBC series: in the US, the series recently launched on the BBC owned streaming platform Britbox, as a BritBox Original.
Other pre-sales included SVT (Sweden), RUV (Iceland), NRK (Norway), DR (Denmark) and YLE (Finland) as well as Belgium, where channel RTBF also acted as a co-producer.
The series has achieved record-breaking ratings in the US ranking as one of BritBox’s top five original series based on viewership. In Finland, where the series also premieres, the first episode was the most-watched series episode of the whole week on YLE Areena.
The press has also praised its sharp writing and exquisite cast, which includes Trevor Eve, Gemma Jones, Nikki Amuka-Bird, and John Simm as members of a wealthy British family imploding in the wake of their patriarch’s shocking apparent suicide.
Synopsis
Jack Wright is a powerful and successful businessman, whose shock suicide leaves his family in disarray. When the provisions of Jack’s final will and testament are made known, his third wife, Sally, and two sons, Gray and John, are appalled to discover they have been largely cut out of Jack’s enormous fortune.
As DCI Morgan and DC Jones delve further into the case, they realize Jack’s cause of death was in fact murder. Their sights soon turn to the Wright family, where the mother of all feuds is beginning. As each family member becomes more reckless and desperate in their bid to own a piece of Jack’s legacy, dark secrets and resentments are revealed with explosive consequences.
Federation International holds worldwide rights to the series.
