TV Azteca announced the return of one of the most beloved programs on Mexican television: 100 Mexicanos, a game show that has entertained thousands of families, now hosted by the charismatic and always fun Capi Pérez, known for his humor and unique style, will bring freshness and lots of laughter to the program that will premiere very soon on Azteca Uno.

“It is coming out with an extraordinary style,” Adrián Ortega, General Director of Content at TV Azteca, began in dialogue with ttvnews. “It is a classic of Mexican television, with the TV Azteca twist, Capi Pérez is what gives it that unique and very Azteca-style touch.”

“100 Mexicanos is a format with more than 50 years in the industry, with an important journey in Mexico,” added Alejando Esquivel, director of Entertainment and Special Events at TV Azteca. “Its arrival on TV Azteca has us very excited, because it arrives with a distinctive feature, the icing on the cake, which is having Capi Pérez.”

100 Mexicanos is a game show based on the international Family Feud format, created by FremantleMedia Limited and produced in association with Fremantle Media México for TV Azteca.

“The truth is that the relationship with TV Azteca is great. It has been for many years, they have been a great partner for Fremantle in Mexico,” Coty Cagliolo, Head of Production Latam in Fremantle, told ttvnews. “And for a long time we were thinking that we needed a new version of 100 Mexicanos. It is the same format that has always been seen on Mexican TV, but new, different. That’s the beauty of these big formats, that they are updated but at the same time continue to have the essence intact”.

In each episode, two teams of four members led by a celebrity compete to guess the most popular answers to questions based on surveys to 100 Mexicans. This fun program also includes special episodes in which we can see teams made up entirely of celebrities.

The game is very simple, one of the members of each team faces another in each round, to have the opportunity to answer the question, you have to press a button as quickly as you can and if you get the most popular answer, your team continues to answer, if not, the other team has a chance to hit it.

Teams score points in each round, at the end of 3 rounds, the captain of the winning team so far will answer questions from the “quick money” round while another member enters the “silent booth.” At the end of the round, the participant from the team who did not hear the questions will also answer; The points from both rounds are added and if they get a certain amount of points, the team wins the money.

“This first season has 80 episodes, with about 30 in VIP format, with celebrities,” Esquivel explained. “We are recording and in post-production. We estimate that it will be released around September. There are 80 episodes and without a doubt it will have a second season,” Ortega added.

With an agile and fun format, 100 Mexicanos will offer laughter, emotions and above all, a lot of fun for the whole family.
