On a busy day for industry events, Natpe announced what was feared, the cancellation of its traditional Global Conference and Marketplace at the beginning of the year, which this time was going to take place in the Bahamas, from January 17 to 19.
The news comes at the same time that Basic Lead announced the launch of its own event in Miami – the previous traditional venue for Natpe’s year-end event – with dates from February 31-2.
Natpe’s decision comes as no surprise, after the National Association of Television Program Executives announced on October 3 that it would file a petition to restructure its business affairs with the Bankruptcy Court under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.
