The premiere of the new season of Telemundo’s reality competition Exatlon Estados Unidos ranked as the # 1 Spanish-language program in its 7:00pm to 9:00pm timeslot, among adults 18-49 with an average of 698,000, outperforming all previous season premieres of Exatlon and exceeding Univision by +8% in its daypart, according to Nielsen.
Furthermore, Exatlon was the #1 Spanish-language program in primetime, among adults 18-34 with an average of 336,000. Locally, the hit reality show was the #1 program in its timeslot among adults 18-49, regardless of language, in Miami, and the #1 Spanish-language program in New York, Philadelphia, Denver, Washington, Tampa, Boston and Charlotte.
On premiere night, Exatlon delivered a total of 4 million engagements across digital platforms, social media and television. Additionally, the premiere of Exatlon on Telemundo ranked as the #1 most social Hispanic primetime series, with 116,000 total interactions across all social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to Nielsen Social.
Hosted by sports commentator, Erasmo Provenza, the intense and entertaining family-friendly program seeks to find the participant with the strongest physical and mental skills using a series of obstacle courses and extreme life conditions set in total isolation from the rest of the world.
The impressive and diverse roster of athletes is comprised by 16 new contestants and four fan-favorites from past seasons. The 20 athletes are divided into two teams, red and blue, to compete against each other for the coveted prize of US$200,000.
