Following a successful run at Mipcom in Cannes, Turkish distributor Mediahub made its way to Mip Cancun to continue expanding its catalog’s international footprint.
First in line, of course, is its successful original production, Alaca, which has already been sold in over 10 countries. “Recently, we closed the first deal in Latin America with Ecuador”, Elif Turna, Sales Manager at Mediahub, said to ttvnews at the event in Cancun.
“And after Mip Cancun, I believe we are going to announce more deals in Latin America”, she added. “Because we already have the deal with Ecuador, we are now proceeding to dub the rest of the episodes.”
In addition to Alaca, Mediahub is presenting one of the most recent additions to its catalog: the miniseries Cosmopolis, which is “fresh out of the oven”, the executive said.
Cosmopolis follows four teenage friends in Dubai who stumble upon a bag of money, launching them into a high-stakes world filled with danger, suspense, and thrilling twists. Blending teenage drama, friendship, and adventure, this five-episode series offers a fresh and authentic portrayal of life in Dubai as well as insights into multicultural youth, showcasing the city’s hidden gems and its cultural diversity.
“Here at this market, we have received great feedback and we will soon announce new deals for it,” she revealed.
Aside from its hit dramas, the distributor continues to offer its catalog of unscripted content, with many titles dealing with the border crisis across different territories, a topic that’s very popular in today’s political climate.
“At Mipcom, I had the privilege of sharing the catalog with many buyers. Right after the market, we’ve received multiple requests to license Stop Border Control, which has three seasons: Latin America, Cuba and Roma”, she explained.
“And also another title called Latin American Hot Borders. We have a great demand for these titles right now. Soon we will announce two successful deals with Eastern Europe. Here we’ve been showing the catalog to free to air platforms and SVOD platforms,” she concluded.
