The drama has been acquired by Record TV in Brazil, Telemicro in the Dominican Republic, Venevision in Venezuela, and Canal 5 in Honduras.
International distributor Eccho Rights has secured a new round of broadcast deals for the Turkish drama series I Am Mother (original title: Sandık Kokusu), continuing the title’s strong momentum across the Latin American region.
The latest agreements see the emotional, character-driven drama acquired by Record TV in Brazil, alongside new sales to Telemicro in the Dominican Republic, Venevision in Venezuela and Canal 5 in Honduras.
Produced by O3 Medya and originally commissioned by Show TV in Türkiye, I Am Mother has proven to be one of the most widely travelled Turkish dramas of recent years, resonating with audiences through its powerful exploration of motherhood, loss and resilience.
“I Am Mother continues to connect strongly with broadcasters across Latin America, where there is a clear appetite for emotionally rich, character-led storytelling,” said Barbora Suster, Head of Sales for Latam at Eccho Rights. “These new deals, particularly with a major network like Record TV in Brazil, underline the series’ broad appeal and its ability to perform across very different markets in the region.”
The series stars Özge Özpirinçci, Demet Akbağ, Metin Akdülger, Engin Öztürk and Nesrin Cavadzade, and concluded in March 2025 after two successful seasons on Show TV. Previous international sales include Spain, Chile, Colombia, Panama, the U.S. Hispanic market and MENA, where the series aired day-and-date with its Turkish broadcast.
I Am Mother follows Karsu, a woman trapped in an unhappy and abusive marriage, whose life is shattered when her young son goes missing during a journey to Istanbul. Years later, a chance encounter offers hope of reunion, but forces Karsu to confront the emotional cost of the past and the true meaning of motherhood as she fights to reclaim her family.
