The Sales executive for Latin America of the Turkish distributor spoke with ttvnews in Mipcancun about the group’s new initiatives in terms of production and distribution.
Already present in almost all of Latin America with its Turkish dramas, Calinos Entertainment traveled to Mexico for a new edition of Mipcancun, seeking to delve even further into its business in the region, in a market that has proven to be very productive for the Turkish group.
“Here we are in a super productive Mipcancun with our clients,” began in dialogue with ttvnews Duda Rodrigues, Sales Executive for Latin America at Calinos.
“For me, who manages sales for LatAm countries, Mipcancun is one of the best markets. The format is super productive, having one-on-one appointments. We have everything in one place and it is very productive. Mipcancun has a different feeling to other markets”.
“Another very positive point is the date, the end of the year, companies have a very good idea of what next year will be like, we all work numbers and many times there is extra money to close last minute sales. This is one of the more productive months. 2023 is going to be the same as 2022, and I have high expectations for 2024,” she added.
Part of the executive’s positive vision for next year involves a great business development for the Turkish distributor, which will venture into the production of local content in the region.
“I think we have good sales expectations from local production. Calinos will start producing local content and we are very excited to be distributing our own production in 2024,” said Rodrigues.
For now, Calinos continues to present its successful dramas to the Latin American market, starting with Forbidden Fruit, “a title that was a great success with six seasons. It started in 2018 and ended in 2023, it is super strong and a big success. Right now it is on air with Wapa and Chilevisión with great shares. It was in Peru, in Panama… it is working very well.”
“And now we have a super cool production with its second season in Turkey called Farah, the scripted format of La chica que limpia from Argentina and The Cleaning Lady in the US with HBO. Farah is based on that script format but the Turkish version is different, with more love story. It is very interesting on a commercial level. And I know that in 2024 it will be throughout Latin America,” she concluded.
