During the presentation in Buenos Aires, the Paramount and Dori Media teams spoke to ttvnews to share their expectations for the series’ premiere, which will make its debut this Thursday, July 17 on Flow and Friday, July 18 on Telefe, coinciding with the anniversary of the AMIA bombing.

This Friday, July 18, marks the anniversary of the fateful day in 1994 when a car bomb crashed into the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA) in Buenos Aires, leaving 85 people dead and 300 more injured.
The AMIA bombing is the center of the story of AMIA: la serie, the shocking fiction series inspired by true events, produced by Dori Media, which will premiere this week on Telefe and Flow in Argentina.
The entire series will be available on the platform starting this Thursday, July 17, and will premiere on Friday, July 18, on Telefe.
To celebrate the big premiere, the teams from Dori Media and Telefe were present in Buenos Aires this Tuesday, sharing images of the mega-production and anticipating the arrival of this important story on Argentine television.
“We have huge expectations for the return of fiction to Telefe, with this series of the highest production quality and a very sensitive subject for all Argentinians, which moves hearts and recreates regrettable events that have occurred in the country,” Guillermo Pendino, VP and Brand Head, Programming and Content, FTA, Digital Content, and Pay TV Brands at Paramount, told ttvnews.

Along the same lines, Darío Turovelzky, EVP of Broadcast and Studios for Paramount Global in Latin America, also highlighted the importance of recreating this story that marked Argentina. “When the Dori Media team offered us this story, we didn’t hesitate for a second. Not only because of the quality of the series, but precisely because we believe it’s a story that must be told and heard. Because it challenges us, moves us, opens old wounds, and it needs to be told. It’s not a documentary; it’s a fictionalized story of international quality.”
“We hope the audience will embrace it, like all the products on our screen. We are very happy to be part of this premiere,” added Pendino.
A series with international quality
AMIA: la serie is inspired by real events to create a contemporary action story, where the lines between truth and fiction are blurred. The production is an international effort by Dori Media and Yair Dori, in collaboration with the local production company Cimarrón, with a cast and crew from multiple countries, and was filmed on location in Uruguay and Argentina.
With a fast-paced narrative and high visual impact, the series combines archival footage with high-quality original production, creating a fully immersive experience. As the plot unfolds, viewers will be confronted with still-unresolved questions: What was true and what was covered up? What interests moved the pieces? Where does memory end and fiction begin? The series will inundate viewers with questions that no one has been able to answer in almost 30 years.
“To be successful, you need a good story, good actors, good directors, good music, and, of course, a good production,” Nadav Palti, CEO of Dori Media, began in conversation with ttvnews.

AMIA: la serie
The series was created by Givon Snir (also showrunner) and Shuky Gur, and directed by Uruguayan filmmaker Guillermo Rocamora. It stars Israeli actor Michael Aloni, along with Malena Sánchez, Alfonso Tort, César Bordón, Soledad Pelayo, Roberto Suárez, and Jameel Khoury, among other talents from Israel, Argentina, and Uruguay.
“The production quality is very high. Also, viewers have told us, ‘We see a lot of Israeli touch in the production quality.’ The quality of the storytelling is something very unique to Israeli storytelling, not just here in Latin America,” the CEO explained. “So I think it’s the combination of the Israeli touch, the Israeli storytelling, and the production here in Argentina and Uruguay, in addition to the atmosphere, style, and feel of the original location.”
“In Montevideo, Uruguay, for example, we blocked off an entire block in the center of the capital,” Palti continued. “And we turned it into the embassy after the bombing, exactly like how it was during the bombing. So much so that people have seen the images on social media and have asked us if it’s the original. So yes, I think we invested a lot.”
Israel, Argentina, and the World
Prior to its arrival in Argentina, AMIA: la serie premiered in Israel, where it made its debut on Reshet 13 last February.
“The launch in Israel was very good,” Palti emphasized. “It premiered on Reshet, the second most-watched channel in Israel. It was a huge success.”

AMIA: la serie’s premiere in Israel
The executive also revealed that after its broadcast on linear TV, the series will premiere on Netflix in Israel, reaching an even wider audience in the country. “Now it will be on Netflix, so everyone in Israel will be able to watch it.”
And after its run in Israel and now in Argentina, Dori Media is looking to bring the series to more screens throughout the region and internationally. “We are working on it now. After the launch here [in Argentina], we want to launch it throughout the region,” the CEO explained. “We are negotiating with a regional platform in Latin America and Brazil for its launch. And after launching it across Latin America, we hope it will be very successful and expand to the rest of the world,” he concluded.
The Return to Fiction for Telefe
AMIA: la serie is also part of Telefe’s return to fiction, a strategy they’ve been vigorously developing since last year with series like Margarita, and which they’re reinforcing now with this major premiere.
“We feel that this union between Telefe, Flow, and Dori Media gives us the opportunity to bring fiction back to Telefe’s screens,” said Pendino.
“We work constantly to offer the public a programming lineup with a wide variety of content. Among this is fiction, which is always our aspiration, and we achieve it with different productions. Last year, we made an agreement for Margarita. This year, we’re making this major premiere of AMIA with Flow. And we want to continue working on developing fiction content, whether short or long series. We’re working on that for next year. We’re seeking agreements with other partners to bring long-form fiction to the screen,” he added.
“For us, fiction is an important pillar of our content strategy,” Turovelzky emphasized. “We have a content development team. All the showrunners are in contact, generating fiction, sometimes not only for Telefe, but also for third parties, in co-production. For us, it’s part of our DNA, and we’ll have news to share soon.”
