Produced by Fremantle for Televisa-Univision, and based on the format distributed by Dori Media Group, ¿Apostarías por mí? premiered last Sunday, January 18, on Las Estrellas, Univision, UniMás, and ViX.
A new, revamped, 24/7 version of the competition format, Power Couple, the premiere is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated by Dori Media and marks the next phase of its most successful format worldwide.
“¿Apostarías por mi? went on air this Sunday and we’re very excited”, Nadav Palti, CEO of Dori Media, said to ttvnews at the current edition of Content Americas in Miami. “We worked on it more than 6 months. And this is a development for the next stage of Power Couple“.
“Televisa aires three seasons of Inseparables, and this is kind of the fourth season, but new and 24/7 for the first time”, he added.
The executive celebrated the fact that Power Couple is present in over 20 countries, with more than 60 seasons and 1000 episodes. “And now we believe this is the next step. We have huge expectations. The launch was very good. Everyone is very excited and we believe it will reach all of Europe and Latin America, and the world”, he said.
“It’s innovative because the format is becoming attractive to those channels or platforms that are looking for this type of content, which is now almost all of them, because they also need to drive traffic to digital, and from digital to broadcast TV. It’s a synergy we’re seeking,” added María Perez Campi, Director of Sales for US Hispanic & Latam at Dori Media.
“Furthermore, Power Couple, with its many versions, offers a new opportunity for those who already have several seasons under their belt to refresh their offerings and transition to 24/7 as an alternative. It’s a new structure. The content is constant, and the platforms have their own content; they don’t just rebroadcast what’s on TV, it’s exclusive. It’s a new approach and a new structure for a very powerful format.”
“We expect this to bring us new sales, strengthen the format, and we’re all very excited to see how this season unfolds,” she predicted.
Besides Power Couple, another format that brought Dori Media a lot of joy in recent months is The Auction, which premiered its version in Peru with great success and is already preparing to return with a second installment.
“The Auction was very successful”, Palti said. “It was a great opportunity for us to do it with America TV in Peru. It was a good first season. They now want to do the second season and we are trying to figure out the timing”.
“We are also negotiating it with several countries in the region. I’m sure it will air on many. And we are shooting the pilot in Italy. And we’re negotiating it in France and Spain. It was surpassed our expectations. It’s a really good title. It’s something people want to watch”, he concluded.
