Weekly broadcasts begin May 17, expanding Warner Bros. Discovery U.S. Hispanic’s investment in sports and culturally driven content.

Warner Bros. Discovery announced the US premiere of LM52, a new professional Mexican lucha libre league created to showcase and elevate the next generation of wrestling talent.

LM52’s competitions and weekly programming will debut Sunday, May 17 at 9 PM ET/PT on Discovery en Español, with broadcasts scheduled through mid-December.

Positioned at the intersection of sports and entertainment, LM52 introduces a structured league format designed to support both emerging and established wrestlers while preserving the cultural identity and tradition that define Mexican lucha libre.

Produced in Mexico and developed for international distribution, the league will feature high-impact competitions, character-driven rivalries, and immersive in-venue storytelling that reflects the sport’s modern evolution.

“Lucha libre is one of the most dynamic and culturally rich forms of sports entertainment, with a deep emotional connection to our audience rooted in heritage, community, and storytelling,” said Hortensia Quadreny, VP of Programming for Warner Bros. Discovery U.S. Hispanic.

“LM52 represents an exciting evolution of that tradition, delivering a modern, high-quality experience while staying true to what makes it so meaningful,” she added.

The launch of LM52 is part of Discovery en Español’s broader sports strategy and Warner Bros. Discovery U.S. Hispanic’s push to expand culturally relevant sports content for Hispanic audiences in the US.

The network is also strengthening its sports slate with titles such as Locos x el Deporte, focused on global soccer culture through analysis, debate, and storytelling, and Destinos: Sedes Mundialistas, a series exploring the host cities of one of the world’s largest sporting events through their culture, gastronomy, and local traditions.

According to the company, these productions, alongside LM52, position Discovery en Español as an emerging destination for sports-driven storytelling that connects culture, competition, and community.

In addition to its linear broadcasts, the new series will also be available on the Discovery en Español GO app and the brand’s official YouTube channel, complemented by exclusive digital content and behind-the-scenes material across its social media platforms.
