Having conquered free-to-air channels and pay-TV platforms internationally, Turkish dramas will have a new home with the launch of Dramax, a digital platform dedicated entirely to the genre.

Demirören Medya, the Turkish media group, owner of Kanal D, announced the launch of the new platform to bring Turkish series and dramas to users around the world.

“Turkish series, locking whole Turkey in front of their screens and breaking rating records when they were broadcasted, now increase access in the whole world through a single platform,” said Murat Saygı, member of the Dramax Executive Board. .

The platform began its broadcast with more than 5,000 hours of TV series and offers all productions in versions dubbed in Spanish and Arabic. New language options will be added to the platform in the future, especially Russian, Urdu and English.

“Dramax shall be the most powerful platform promoting Turkish culture to the world,” added the executive. “Turkish series to be watched whenever and wherever people want.”

Saygı states that Dramax’s goal is to reach 4.6 billion web users and 5.2 billion mobile users via the web or mobile app.

In addition to content from Kanal D, the platform intends to collect content from all networks and groups in Turkey. “Regardless of the competition, we invite all channels, series and movie producers and unique content owners in Turkey to be a shareholder to the content export platform of Turkey.”

Dramax offers two membership options: an individual package, for US$ 4.99 and a family package, for US$ 8.99. Users have a one-week free trial subscription available for their first subscription.

The digital platform can be viewed at www.dramax.tv and in the iOS and Android mobile and tablet applications. It is planned to offer access from Smart TV, Apple TV and Android TV devices in its first year.
