The company, which belongs to Grupo Planeta and De Agostini, will celebrate its quarter century in a major event to be held next spring in the heart of Madrid.

2025 marks a very special milestone for DeAPlaneta Entertainment: the 25th anniversary of the creation of the company, which belongs to Grupo Planeta and De Agostini. A quarter of a century of all-round leadership in the entertainment sector, during which the company has distributed Academy Award-winning films (The Pianist, The King’s Speech, 12 Years a Slave) and box office hits such as Saw, The Invisible Guardian or The Girl on the Train, produced internationally recognized children’s series, such as MILO, and, more recently, has explored the universe of gaming and immersive content, expanding into interactive environments some of its most outstanding IPs, such as Magic Lilly.

The success in recent months of films distributed by DeAPlaneta, such as the horror thriller Longlegs, and Conclave, which won the Golden Globe for best screenplay in the last edition of the awards, reaffirms the company’s commitment to quality entertainment. These titles will be joined later this year by films such as Nuremberg, starring Academy Award-winners Russell Crowe and Rami Malek, How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies, the film that has moved the whole of Southeast Asia and has been shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best International Film, Mutiny, an action film starring Jason Statham directed by the man behind one of DeAPlaneta’s latest hits, Plane, and The Physician 2, the sequel to one of the distributor’s landmark successes, with Tom Payne once again playing the role of Rob Cole, the memorable character created by Noah Gordon.

2025 will also see the release of DeAPlaneta’s production Love You To Death, a series by Dani de la Orden with Verónica Echegui and Joan Amargós at the helm of the cast. This joins the list of recent major in-house productions that have been very well received by the audience, such as the series Detective Touré and What Are You Waiting For? based on the bestsellers by Jon Arretxe and Megan Maxwell, respectively, and the film Who Is Who? a family comedy starring Kira Miró and Elena Irureta, which hit Spanish theaters last December.

DeAPlaneta Entertainment’s 25th anniversary will coincide with the half-century commemoration of the creation of Maya the Bee, an animation classic owned by DeAPlaneta Kids & Family, which will be celebrated with a series of special actions and events for its fans. The company’s kids and family content branch will also begin production of new series, such as Magic Lilly and Karters, and the third season of MILO, a global phenomenon among preschool audiences that debuted in the United States on PBS Kids in 2024, adding new fans to an audience that spans more than 170 countries on four different continents. Also the U.S. brand Wonderpals, whose relaunch by DeAPlaneta Interactive has established it as one of Web3’s most recognizable brands. This global reach attests to the good performance of DeAPlaneta Kids & Family’s international offices in Italy, France, Germany and CEE, managing successful IPs such as Miraculous Ladybug, Gormiti, David the Gnome, Heidi, The Smurfs, Care Bears and Unicorn Academy in a multitude of territories.

Ignacio Segura de Lassaletta, CEO of DeAPlaneta Entertainment, points out that the company’s 25th anniversary coincides with its moment of greatest creativity and prominence: “2025 will give us the opportunity to look back and review the path that DeAPlaneta Entertainment has traveled for a quarter of a century hand in hand with the public. If today we have their trust, as well as the respect of the entire entertainment sector, it is because we have been faithful to the purpose of offering a diverse, innovative and carefully curated catalog, always with the viewers as our priority. But this is not a nostalgic occasion: we will celebrate both the milestones we have achieved and those that promise a very promising future for our company.”

To commemorate its 25-year history, DeAPlaneta Entertainment presents a new logo that will accompany the productions and new releases that will mark the course of this season.

In order to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the company together with clients and collaborators with whom countless synergies have been built, a great event will take place next spring in the heart of Madrid. A unique occasion to celebrate all together the good state of the company and to toast to a prosperous future full of projects and productions. Details will be announced at a later date.
