The number represents a 50% growth compared to 2019.
The OTT platform specialized in documentary content, CuriosityStream, announced this week that it closed the year 2020 with 15 million subscribers.
The figure represents a growth of 50% with respect to the 10 million with which it closed 2019.
In terms of revenue, the company practically doubled it in 2020, going from 18 million in 2019 to 39.6 million reported in 2020.
In any case, the balance was negative again: it lost 38.6 million dollars in 2020, slightly less than the 42.5 million lost in 2019.
“We had a strong 2020 and ended the year with more than double our revenue and 15 million subscribers,” said Clint Stinchcomb, CEO of CuriosityStream.
“We recently managed to receive investments of 100 million dollars. We started 2021 with a strong balance sheet and one of the most comprehensive factual content libraries in the world,” he added.
