In the week of August 2 to 8, the Mexican Netflix series, produced by Lemon Studios, led TV Time’s Shows on the Rise ranking and also found a spot among the most binged series, ranking fourth in the company’s weekly Binge Report.
Released on May 22, Mexican series Control Z quickly became one of Netflix’s most successful productions.
The youth fiction, produced by Lemon Studios, became one of the 10 most binged worldwide and the most binged series in Spanish of May, according to TV Time. In June it was the second.
Additionally, Netflix confirmed that the series was viewed more than 20 million times in its first 28 days.
It was not surprising then that the series has repeated its success with the premiere of its second season on August 4.
Mexican fiction managed to lead the weekly Shows in the Rise ranking by TV Time for the week of August 2 to 8, thus being the OTT series that grew the most during the week.
Also noteworthy is the presence of Netflix’s Spanish drama, Money Heist, in ninth place.
Completing the podium are Marvel Studios: Legends and Freeform’s Cruel Summer, followed by HBO Max’s Genera+ion, BBC’s Glow Up, NBC’s Blindspot, Korean Run BTS, HBO’s The White Lotus, and Netflix’s Out Banks.
Control Z also managed to find a spot among the most binged series worldwide in the same week, occupying fourth place in the consulting firm’s Binge Report ranking.
In this case, the presence of another Spanish Netflix hit, Elite, also in ninth place, stands out.
The ranking is led by Netflix’s Outer Banks, followed by Netflix’s anime One Piece and Never Have I Ever.
