The 30 selected projects will participate in the 5 international pitching sessions. Up to 438 works have been received, 38% more than last year, with Portugal, France, Argentina, and Colombia leading the list of applications.
Conecta Fiction & Entertainment announces the 30 international projects chosen by its editorial committees to participate in the five pitching sessions that will make up the ninth edition of the event, to be held at the Teatro Auditorio José Luis Perales and the Hospedería del Seminario in Cuenca (Castilla-La Mancha) from 16 to 19 June.
The organisers have evaluated a total of 438 projects, which represents an increase of 38% over those received last year. This result is partly due to the excellent reception of the new Pitch Direct to Streaming Movies call, offered this year for the first time for movie projects designed for direct release on streaming platforms, which received 188 proposals, surpassing the veteran Pitch Copro Series, which accumulated 181 applications.
With regard to the origin of the projects, they come from 39 different countries. The breakdown by continent reveals that 68% come from European countries (led by Portugal, France, Ukraine and Italy, as well as Spain), 31% from the Americas (led by Argentina, Colombia, Chile and Mexico) and the remaining 1% from Asia.
Conecta Fiction & Entertainment 2025 Awards
The finalist projects will compete for various awards at the ninth edition of the forum. The full list and details of the prizes will be announced at the awards ceremony on the evening of Wednesday 18 June.
Among others, prizes this year will include the Triodos Bank Award, with a financial contribution of €3,000; the G.E.M.A Pitch Perfect Award, which will grant two professional one-year memberships to The Global Entertainment Marketing Academy of Arts & Sciences (G.E.M.A.) valued at $1,200, and an exclusive global pass that grants free entry to any G.E.M.A. events worldwide in 2025 virtually and/or in person (valued at $2,500); the Acorde Award, which grants access to and use of its music catalogue for the pilot of the two chosen projects; or the PRODU Award, which provides all winners in any category with a full year’s subscription to PRODU platform, as well as editorial follow-up of the progress of the winning projects for two years.
In parallel, and thanks to the long-term partnerships established between Conecta and other international events, a selection of projects will be granted the opportunity to participate in other professional forums of the tv industry. This strategy seeks to maximise funding opportunities for each project by exposing them to different audiences and markets. The events that repeat their commitment are TV Drama Vision Göteborg (Sweden), SANFIC Industria (Chile), Bogotá Audiovisual Market – BAM (Colombia) and Serial Killer (Czech Republic), joined for the first time by Rio2C (Brazil) and Abycine Lanza (Spain).
