As a result of the deal, Love TV Channels will offer French, Italian, and Spanish versions of an initial 500 hours of content spanning lifestyle, true crime, and nature.
Cineflix Rights is ramping up its digital distribution strategy with the announcement today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Barcelona-headquartered Love TV Channels, which delivers localised thematic TV channels to platforms in 34 countries globally.
The partnership sees Cineflix Rights investing in Love TV Channels’ growth strategy and a commitment to deliver localised versions of some of its biggest global franchises, in return for a stake in the business.
As a result of the deal, Love TV Channels will offer French, Italian, and Spanish versions of an initial 500 hours of content spanning lifestyle, true crime, and nature, with series including Property Brothers, Homicide: Hours to Kill, Holiday Homes in the Sun, Border Security: America’s Front Line, and Inside Taronga Zoo.
Love TV Channels is a fast growing and leading FAST publisher in Europe, currently operating 10 brands and 26 TV channels distributed in 34 countries across Europe, the United States, Australia, and Latin America, reaching more than 25 million households per month on platforms including Samsung TV Plus, Roku, Pluto TV, Titan OS, Amazon Prime Video, LG Channels, Xumo Play, Google TV, Xiaomi TV+, Tivify, Netgem, and in the TV packages of telecom operators such as Orange TV, Vodafone, Free, Masmovil, and O2.
The deal with Love TV Channels builds on Cineflix Rights’ success in rapidly expanding its direct-to-consumer digital business, which currently includes 11 single brand and genre owned-and-operated FAST channels across the US, Canada, and UK, distributed across the leading FAST platforms.
The company also runs 21 YouTube channels and anticipates doubling this number in the next 12 months. Cineflix Rights is also rolling out non-English language versions of its FAST and YouTube channels globally —for example, the Spanish-language channel, Mayday: Catástrofe Aérea.
Mike Gould, SVP Digital, Cineflix Rights said: “Growing our digital distribution business forms a key part of our commercial strategy. We have seen double-digit revenue growth from this activity over the past year and see further potential as we roll out our brands direct-to-consumer through our owned channels as well as in partnerships with other platforms. This deal with Love TV Channels reflects our ability to offer a variety of partnership and financing models to bring some of the world’s biggest television franchises to the widest range of platforms.”
Teresa López, CEO and Co-founder, Love TV Channels added: “We welcome this strategic partnership with Cineflix Rights as an important step in the continued evolution of our company. This collaboration will allow us to offer premium factual entertainment as part of our localized TV channels for the different markets, and we are confident it will contribute to the growth of our thematic TV channels driving higher engagement with our audiences across the different markets.”
