This Monday, January 6, after Teletrece tarde, Chile’s Canal 13 will renew its afternoon slot by premiering a new Turkish fiction that promises to deliver a fun and tender afternoon: Mamá por accidente.
Produced in 2019 by O3 Medya for Star TV, and distributed internationally by Eccho Rights as My Sweet Lie, the series was an immediate success and became the highest-performing drama series of the summer in Turkey that year.
Originally titled Benim Tatlı Yalanım, the Ottoman production tells the story of Meyat, an attractive middle-aged man who has raised his daughter Kaira completely alone after her mother abandoned him. All these years he has made the girl believe that her mother is away helping other children in Africa, and that she will return soon, sending letters to the girl written by him and passing them off as if she were his mother to whom he sends them.
One day, the young father meets Suna, a funny young woman with some financial problems and owner of a coffee shop. After several misunderstandings, both decide to become accomplices, and make the girl believe that Suna is her mother.
My Sweet Lie stars Furkan Palalı, Lavinya Ünlüer, Aslı Bekiroğlu and Ahmet Saraçoğlu, and promises to fill the afternoons with entertainment, love, colors and candor.
Following this first episode of Mamá por accidente, Canal 13 will continue to air its other Turkish drama, Quédate conmigo.
