Cecilia Gómez de la Torre, one of the most recognized and experienced executives in the audiovisual industry in Latin America, began 2025 with the great news of the launch of her own venture: Ceci G, Entertainment & Consulting.
“I believe that in life everything evolves,” began the executive in dialogue with ttvnews from Miami. “After having been more than 20 years as content director and programming manager at Frecuencia Latina, I acquired certain expertise and I took it with me. Then I went on to have that partnership with the guys from Tondero Producciones and we opened the international distributor, representing our own and third-party products, including America TV.”
“But, in this process of evolution, there came a time when I made the decision to take a big step, which is to have my own company,” she continued. “I think this was decanting little by little. With this expertise from having been in various parts of the business, with a different vision, where I found opportunities that were missing in the market. And it is that many times producers are very lacking in those connections and contacts, and in knowing what buyers are looking for, the trends and how to analyze them. How do you analyze all that that comes from the algorithms, from who knows how to read the rating, the TV and film audiences.”
“And this has been part of that stage that we did all these years. That’s where the idea of continuing to do what we’ve been doing was born, not just me, but the entire team that works with me, and we wanted to reinforce the possibility that those wonderful projects and ideas that exist in Latam, that we can bring them to a safe harbor, that they are realized. There are parts of that path that are empty. The content generators, the creatives, do not know the final recipient. And this bridge is needed that knows both parties and knows how to analyze what they need, what the market asks for. And that’s where we come into action.”
In addition to a link between the different players in the audiovisual industry, Ceci G is also positioned as an independent producer.
“With Tondero we were already generating strategic alliances with Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Spain, with small and large producers, TV channels, with many relationships with platforms. Finally we decided that we wanted to develop this part of the business a little more and also become executive producers of certain projects,” explained the executive.
“It has begun to bear fruit. Today we are already executive producers of four films, two Peruvian, two international, one of them Chilean, some of which are already being filmed and others in the pre-production process. These are the first projects in which we are involved as producers, where we have already obtained the parts for these films,” she said.
“In this industry, working alone is impossible. You have to work in a community. You have to make strategic alliances. That is what Ceci G is doing. Passionate about this industry, excited to be able to fly with my own wings, looking to make many strategic alliances and with a wonderful team that supports me,” she concluded.
