Presented at the last edition of Mipcancún, the telenovelas of Sociedade Independente de Comunicação (SIC) of Portugal are preparing to continue conquering territories in Content Americas.
The catalogue is headed by La Promesa, “an incredible telenovela based on a script from Kanal D of Turkey, with changes in the story to adapt it to a more Latin audience,” Carlota Vieira, deputy director of Content Sales, explained to ttvnews.
“It is attracting a lot of attention from people. Some already knew the story and they love to see how we have worked and changed some characters. We have done many screenings and dubbed a chapter in neutral to present it better in the region,” she explained.
“In Portugal it continues to win,” continued the executive. “We are broadcasting it in prime time, attracting a lot of attention and gaining audiences. It has a very involved fan base and very attentive to understand who is going to win Laura’s heart,” she added.
In addition, for Easter, the group is presenting Lucia de Fatima, with the new addition that it is dubbed in neutral Spanish and ready for broadcast. “We have also edited and dubbed the three-episode miniseries version and we have edited a 110-minute film version,” revealed the executive. The production tells the story of the visionary of Fatima, of her miracle.
“And in Brazil we have El secreto on the air, which in its original form is Sangue Oculta in Portuguese, which is doing very well. It is the second telenovela that we have on FTA prime time in Brazil,” said the executive. “We also presented Flor sin tiempo, which has already been sold to Georgia, Israel and Canada. Here we are presenting it with the challenge of having enough sales to dub it to neutral,” she concluded.
