Proimágenes Colombia, the country’s audiovisual promotion arm, attended Content Americas to support Colombian producers and entrepreneurs and to promote two powerful incentives available to support audiovisual production in Colombia. Since their launch, these incentives have attracted 186 projects and over US$725 million in investments.

Carlos Moreno, Director of International Promotion at Proimágenes Colombia, shared with ttvnews, “Colombia has a very healthy ecosystem, considering that the government and institutions have prioritized audiovisual production as a tool for investment and progress. We can confidently say that we have some of the most stable incentives in the region,” he said.

The two main incentives are the FFC Rebate, which reimburses 40% of audiovisual service expenses and 20% of logistical service expenses within the country, and the CINA Tax Credit, which offers a tax discount certificate equivalent to 35% of costs on audiovisual and logistical services in Colombia.

“This applies to any audiovisual service conducted anywhere in the national territory. It gives us a competitive edge, thanks to the locations we offer and the trained teams we already have to facilitate these productions. We also have the fiscal quota and budget secured through 2025,” Moreno highlighted.

All information for production companies interested in accessing these benefits can be found on the Colombian Film Commission website. Creators will find details about the 2025 budget and the mechanism for utilizing it.

Since the incentives were introduced in 2012, 186 audiovisual projects have been supported, resulting in US$725 million in investments in the country. This demonstrates the importance of these incentives and the need for their continuity to further strengthen local teams, according to the Proimágenes Colombia representative.

“Since the CINA incentive was introduced in 2020, we’ve managed to attract large-scale international projects. These are impactful figures, which doesn’t even account for the economic activity generated in hotels, domestic travel, and related industries. We’re seeing significant investment, and there’s no doubt about the need to continue these incentives in the coming years,” the executive concluded.
