As a result of its Audiovisual Immersion Program in the American Industry, EGEDA is presenting 16 projects in Miami to make them available to major networks and international partners.

EGEDA, the Spanish Audiovisual Producers’ Services Society, took part in Content Americas with 16 audiovisual projects that emerged from its Platino Go To AFM, Platino Go To Content Americas, and Platino Next Gen programs, all of which are part of its well-established Audiovisual Immersion Program in the American Industry.

This was explained to ttvnews by Carlos Antón, EGEDA’s Director of Business Development, who noted that the organization sought projects with international potential and commercial value. “From that selection came 16 outstanding, wonderful projects that we have brought here to Miami, and they are holding meetings with financiers, talent agents, and networks such as Televisa, Univision, ViX, and others at that level,” he said.

According to the executive, EGEDA’s lab has prepared producers to improve how they pitch their projects. “Because tomorrow we are going to put them in front of 10 buyers who are very interested in hearing their projects. But alongside learning, an opportunity may also arise from that,” he emphasized.

The EGEDA Audiovisual Immersion Program in the American Industry was launched 16 years ago in Los Angeles. “Previously, it was called the Immersion in the American Market program. We have been running this program in Los Angeles for many years, and what has happened is that television and platform content has become more important. There are many more producers who not only produce for film, but also for television and platforms and in series formats,” Antón explained.

“The problem with Los Angeles is that there is no television and platform market that we consider appropriate. That is why we decided to split the program and bring part of it here to Miami, focusing much more on audiovisual producers, series producers, and products for television and platforms. Before the market, we can offer a series of trainings and workshops, and then participants can fully express their development within the market,” the EGEDA executive detailed.

According to Antón, talent must be provided with tools. “That is what we do at Iberseries and Platino Industria, in Madrid, at the end of September and the beginning of October. I am proud of EGEDA’s team of professionals and of Ibero-American cinema, which has producers who step up and fight. We are constantly trying, pushing, and working, and I am thrilled with the response, which tells us that we are on the right path,” Antón concluded.
