His experience in developing, producing, and launching prime time and OTT series in the US, LatAm, Spanish, and Italian markets, as well as his extensive background in creating and monetizing business opportunities, are key talents in achieving Secuoya Studios’ goals for the coming years.
Raúl Berdonés, CEO of Secuoya Content Group, said it is a privilege to have Brendan Fitzgerald’s background and experience at the helm of Secuoya Studios. “With his incorporation, our commitment to content, the promotion of talent, and the development of a strong, dynamic, and competent sector is reaffirmed,” he stressed.

For his part, Brendan Fitzgerald expressed his “excitement” about this new project and career move, which coincides with Secuoya Studios’ third anniversary and the world premiere of Zorro. “Secuoya brings together several facets that set it apart in the marketplace. The company has a balance and commitment to entertainment in all its forms. I believe it is better prepared than most to adapt to market changes and consumer behavior in the short and medium term,” highlights the studio’s top executive.
The honorary president of the Spain Film Commission has an extensive career as an executive of the most important international channels and broadcasters. Until recently, he was senior vice president of international co-productions in English at Sony Pictures Television; he has extensive experience creating and monetizing commercial opportunities in different markets.
With this appointment, the studio headed by James Costos strengthens its management team in this exciting new phase, which aims to develop more than 20 projects across all of its content areas (series, long-form series, feature films, and unscripted).
The company has proven its ability to create, produce, and distribute premium content in Spanish for the global market. National and international successes such as Supernormal, Montecristo, and Zorro, which, after its premiere in Prime Video Mexico, is preparing for its launch in Spain, Portugal, and Andorra through Prime Video Spain and RTVE, endorse its commitments and objectives in these first three years of activity.
In addition to these projects, there will be almost a dozen high-budget series, some of them in English, for the different national and international distribution and consumption channels; a long-running series in pre-production and another in development, as well as five feature films, a dozen documentary series, not to mention current affairs and entertainment programs for prime time and different time slots, weekly and daily, on national and regional channels, make up the studio’s ambitious and attractive catalog for its 2024-2026 development.
