The series will premiere on Videoland in the Netherlands before being made available internationally through Beta Film.

Beta Film has acquired the international distribution rights to the upcoming Dutch dramedy La Vida Barcelona, expanding the company’s slate of premium European scripted content, as reported by Variety.

The series, produced by Millstreet Films for Videoland, follows Juul, a woman who relocates to Barcelona in search of a fresh start after a difficult breakup. As she navigates life in a new city, she builds unexpected friendships and confronts the personal challenges that led her there.

The lead role is played by Holly Mae Brood, while the project is being produced by Rachel van Bommel and directed by Bobby Boermans. The series combines elements of romantic comedy and drama, with Barcelona serving as both the backdrop and an integral part of the story.

The acquisition further strengthens Beta Film’s portfolio of European scripted productions aimed at the international market. The company plans to introduce La Vida Barcelona to global buyers as demand for locally produced series with international appeal continues to grow.

The series is expected to premiere on Videoland in the Netherlands before being made available internationally through Beta Film.
