The Atresmedia channel announced the premiere of the format, which will arrive “very soon” on its screens under the name Tesoro o cacharro, following other versions released in Spain by Aragón TV and A Punt.
Trash or Treasure, Banijay’s game show format, continues to thrive in Spain, where it will return with a new version, this time for Atresmedia.
The format first arrived in the country in 2022, where Cuarzo Producciones (a Banijay Iberia label) produced a version for Aragón TV (Basura o Tesoro), and then another for Á Punt (Tresor o Trasto) in 2023.
And now, Atresmedia announced that Trash or Treasure will premiere very soon on La Sexta, under the local title Tesoro o Cacharro, hosted by Iñaki Lopez.
From jewelry to toys and modern collectibles, the studio-based show will put contestants to the test as they face a variety of different objects, some extremely valuable and others worth next to nothing. Will the contestants be able to identify the hidden treasure worth €10,000?
Originally created by Banijay’s Mastiff TV in Sweden, other versions have also premiered in Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy.
