Banijay Group unveiled its financial results for the year 2024, in which Banijay Entertainment surpassed €3.3bn in revenues, closing the year with an Adjusted EBITDA margin of 15.8%, as revealed by Marco Bassetti, CEO, Banijay Entertainment.
“2024 saw Banijay Entertainment, inclusive of Banijay Live, continue to demonstrate its strength and market-leading position in what has been commonly recognised as a challenging market environment”, he said.
“A scaled content powerhouse, the last 12-months saw the business rise to be the largest European scripted studio -alongside its long-standing position as a leader in non-scripted (250+ launches in ‘24)- increasing activities in non-English-language, and acting as a key partner for streamers (80 non-scripted & scripted launches in ‘24), delivering award-winning, high-ranking shows across the board”, he added.
The CEO also highlighted the group’s expanded offer and diversified portfolio, with Banijay Live delivering a broad spectrum of 119 events.
“Elsewhere, our pioneering entrepreneurial spirit took centre stage as we finalised an agreement with base and AWS to deliver a market-leading content hub utilising the latest in cloud and AI technologies”, he said.
“Preserving our competitive advantage in the market producing 17K+ hours of content through 2024, we rose as distributor of the year and delivered the most new titles across scripted and non-scripted, a huge number of returning and travelling hits, and continued to successfully exploit our burgeoning 205k+-hour-strong catalogue across all channels – that is testament to the talent we attract and retain, and the strength of the ideas they create”.
“As we start accelerating through 2025, our goal remains simple – maintain our lead and be the number 1 partner for clients, the number 1 home for creatives, and the number 1 powerhouse for IP, live events and experiences”, he concluded.
