The third day of Mipcom closed on a high note thanks to ATV, who hosted a wonderful gathering at The Majestic Hotel, complete with dinner and a show.
The occasion was meant to meet with friends and colleagues present in Cannes, as well as to celebrate the great success of The Nightfall, one of the undeniable hits of the current TV season in Turkey.
“We are very happy with The Nightfall because it started very well. We had the best season opening among the newest titles that have premiered this year”, Muge Akar, head of Sales at ATV Distribution, said to ttvnews during the red carpet at the event.
The Nightfall premiered on ATV with notable ratings, achieving ratings of 4.67 among total viewers, 4.48 in the AB category and 4.84 in the ABC1 category, securing second place in all three categories. With its stunning narrative and outstanding cast, The Nightfall also made a significant impact on social media after the first episode, receiving 10 million viewers on YouTube within a short time.
And the series only doubled its ratings in its second episode, when it reached an 8.64 rating and 26.37% audience share among total viewers, ranking as the first TV Series among the top 100 most-watched programs.
To make the celebration even greater, the Turkish distributor welcomed the drama’s leading couple, Burak Deniz and Su Burcu Yazgı Coskun, who took pictures and spent time with guests at the celebration.
“Everybody is very happy”, the executive said. “They met the stars, they took pictures. It’s been wonderful.”
The event was also a great closing to a very positive Mipcom for ATV: “Mipcom was very fruitful. I think that after this market we will announce new deals,” she revealed.
And as for the near future, the company is already thinking about their trip to Mexico. “For Latin American buyers, we will also be presenting this series at Mip Cancun,” she said. “We will dub the series in Spanish soon. We have a couple of episodes dubbed already and we will have more episodes ready in the next few months,” she concluded.
