The Spanish giant acquired a stake in the Money Heist producer, led by Alex Pina.
Spanish newspaper El confidencial Digital revealed Atresmedia has acquired a 20% stake in Spanish producer Vancouver Media, according to information from the Commercial Register.
Led by Alex Pina, Vancouver Media is known around the world for the Netflix series Money Heist, which is one of the most binged series around the world.
With this stake, Atresmedia will benefit from the series’ success and the deal Vancouver Media has with Netflix, through which the producer will develop projects for the OTT for the next few years.
The first will be White Lines, already in production by Vancouver Media for Netflix.
Vancouver Media was created in 2016 along with the first season of Money Heist. And since then, it’s produced series like The Pier for Atresmedia Studios and now White Lines.
Alex Pina, its director, had previous worked on high profile series like Vis a Vis, Los hombres de Paco, El barco or Los Serrano.
